The BLS Provider Card, a paper-based version of the certification, has been replaced with the BLS Provider eCard, an electronic version that is a more secure and valid alternative. AHA Training Center Coordinators and Instructors are responsible for issuing eCards to students who meet the course requirements for an AHA course, and the student receives an email with instructions to claim the eCard online. To receive an eCard, the student must have successfully completed a BLS course that includes the latest scientific information and guidelines from the 2020 Guidelines for CPR and ECC.
